Grape Treading
In mid-September, the region enters the ancestral hustle of the grape harvest.
In the traditional method of making port wine, the grapes are trodden by foot in granite tanks known as “lagares”.
At this time, and subject to availability, it is possible to live and breathe the spirit of work that has been repeated each year for many generations.
You can enter the lagares and experience one of the most unique and important moments in the production of Port wine.
