Announcing the release, Croft’s Managing Director, Adrian Bridge, commented: ‘We are delighted with the quality of the 2019 Quinta da Roêda Vintage Port. Our investment in the Roêda vineyards continues to reap benefits in terms of consistently first-class wines.’ He noted: ‘2019 has produced an archetypal Quinta da Roêda Vintage Port with great depth and concentration, which will allow it to age very well. Quinta da Roêda Vintage Port will be kept in our cellars and will be released in the next 8-10 years. Customers know that the Quinta da Roêda 2018 is still widely available.”
Croft’s wine maker, David Guimaraens, remarked: “Roêda is an outstanding property, which includes some old vineyards of great historic interest. These contribute to the wonderful richness of the Roêda Vintage Ports, which really stand out for their aromatic complexity.”
The Port will be cellared for a later release to help satisfy market demand for mature Single Quinta Vintage Port.
