The grape harvest marks the end of summer and the beginning of a new cycle in the production of one of the world’s most iconic wines – Port Wine. It is a season of tradition, sharing and celebration, experienced among the vineyards that shape the Douro Valley’s unique landscape.
On 11th September, Quinta da Roêda opens its doors for an unforgettable sunset experience, from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm.
Across the gardens, terrace and the estate’s iconic granite lagares (traditional wine treading tanks), you will enjoy a menu created by Chef Milton Ferreira, celebrating Portuguese tradition and Douro flavours through a selection of dishes that bring together regional produce, heritage and creativity.
Highlights include traditional Harvest soup, Douro-style duck rice with cheese and cured meats from Trás-os-Montes, Grilled cod with pil-pil sauce and ‘migas’, and Bísaro pork loin marinated in vinha d’alhos. The menu is complemented by dishes prepared on the Ofyr grill and in the wood-fired oven, a selection of traditional cured meats and savoury bites, focaccia and flatbreads with a variety of toppings, as well as a dessert table where Port wine, Armamar apples and traditional Portuguese desserts take centre stage. The entire experience will be accompanied by a carefully selected range of Douro wines and Ports.
As the sun sets over the terraced vineyards, live music will provide the perfect atmosphere for a relaxed, elegant and truly authentic Douro celebration.
We recommend comfortable footwear and, subject to availability, you will also be able to take a stroll through the vineyards, with a stop to enjoy a glass of Port Wine.
Admission is €80 per person, and places are limited.
Children up to 3 years old are invited free of charge. Children aged 4 to 11 receive a 50% price reduction.
